“Ana Mendieta might” (2023) is an original 3D animated film that draws inspiration from the legacy of Cuban American artist Ana Mendieta. Created as a speculative tribute, the work imagines an alternate trajectory in which themes central to Mendieta’s practice are reinterpreted in an extraterrestrial setting, including a vision of birth on a distant planet. The film does not reproduce Mendieta’s artworks but re-envisions her earth-body concepts through fictionalized, digital environments. Each scene incorporates natural motifs as dynamic stages, reflecting on her influence while emphasizing the artist’s emotional and ecological concerns.
