Game Over: Spring is a time-travel video game that begins in the 1960s during the historical controversy over DDT, inspired by Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring. The player starts in a moment when political leaders must weigh scientific uncertainty, economic pressure, and environmental risk, then travels across multiple ecological pasts and futures shaped by choice. Centered on a recurring governor’s office and selected outdoor scenes, the game uses immersive environments to show how policy decisions reshape the world across time. Some futures become highly automated and machine-oriented, reflecting AI-driven efficiency and short-term economic gain, while others are transformed by nature and long-term ecological change. Through speculative worldbuilding and environmental storytelling, the project invites players to reflect on how competing values shape ecological realities.
